Objective

Ensure the fitness equipment area in the aged care facility is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene to promote a safe and healthy environment for residents.

Scope of Work
  • Clean and sanitize all fitness equipment surfaces.
  • Dust and wipe down all accessible surfaces, including shelves and ledges.
  • Vacuum and mop flooring to remove dust and debris.
  • Sanitize high-touch areas such as handles, buttons, and screens.
  • Empty and sanitize waste bins.
  • Ensure all cleaning products are used according to manufacturer instructions and safety data sheets.
Method
  1. Begin by removing any visible debris from the floor and equipment surfaces.
  2. Dust all surfaces using microfiber cloths to capture dust particles.
  3. Vacuum the floor thoroughly, paying special attention to corners and under equipment.
  4. Use a disinfectant solution to wipe down all equipment surfaces, ensuring all high-touch areas are sanitized.
  5. Mop the floor with a suitable cleaning solution, ensuring no residue is left behind.
  6. Empty waste bins and replace liners, then sanitize the bin surfaces.

GoodMinor dust or smudges on less than 5% of surfaces. Floors are clean with minimal residue. Equipment is mostly sanitized with no visible contamination. Waste bins are empty.
PassNoticeable dust or smudges on less than 10% of surfaces. Floors have some residue. Equipment is sanitized but may have minor visible contamination. Waste bins are mostly empty.
FailVisible dust, dirt, or smudges on more than 10% of surfaces. Floors have significant residue. Equipment is not properly sanitized, with visible contamination. Waste bins are not emptied or sanitized.
Documentation
  • Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
  • Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
  • Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
