Objective
Ensure the generator room in the aged care facility is maintained to the highest cleaning standards, ensuring safety, hygiene, and compliance with Australian regulations.
Scope of Work
- Dust all surfaces including equipment, shelves, and ledges.
- Sanitise high-touch areas such as door handles and light switches.
- Vacuum and mop the floor using appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Empty rubbish bins and replace liners.
- Inspect and clean air vents to prevent dust accumulation.
- Ensure all cleaning activities comply with infection control standards.
Method
- Prepare the area by removing any obstacles and ensuring the room is well-ventilated.
- Use a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
- Dust all surfaces using microfibre cloths to capture dust effectively.
- Sanitise high-touch areas with an approved disinfectant.
- Vacuum the floor using a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner to ensure dust and allergens are captured.
- Mop the floor with a neutral pH cleaner suitable for the flooring type.
- Dispose of rubbish in designated bins and replace liners.
- Inspect air vents and clean with a vacuum or damp cloth as needed.

Fail | Significant dust and marks on surfaces; high-touch areas unsanitised; floors are dirty with visible debris; air vents clogged with dust; rubbish bins overflowing. |
Documentation
