Objective

Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene in shared bathrooms of aged care facilities to protect the health and well-being of residents.

Scope of Work
  • Thorough cleaning and sanitization of all bathroom surfaces including sinks, toilets, and showers.
  • Dusting and wiping of all horizontal surfaces and fixtures.
  • Cleaning and polishing of mirrors and glass surfaces.
  • Emptying and sanitizing waste bins.
  • Replenishing of soap, toilet paper, and other consumables.
  • Mopping of floors with disinfectant solution.
  • Spot cleaning of walls and doors as needed.
Method
  1. Begin by removing all waste and disposing of it in designated bins.
  2. Dust and wipe all surfaces, including counters, shelves, and fixtures, using a microfiber cloth and appropriate cleaning solution.
  3. Clean and disinfect sinks, toilets, and showers using a non-abrasive cleaner and disinfectant.
  4. Polish mirrors and glass surfaces with a glass cleaner to ensure a streak-free finish.
  5. Replenish all consumables such as soap and toilet paper.
  6. Mop the floor with a disinfectant solution, ensuring all areas are covered.
  7. Conduct a final inspection to ensure all tasks are completed to standard.

Quality Criteria
ExcellentAll surfaces visibly clean, no dust, stains, or debris. Pleasant appearance with no odors. All cleaning tasks completed to highest standard.
GoodMost surfaces clean with minimal dust or minor marks. Generally tidy appearance. All major cleaning tasks completed satisfactorily.
PassBasic cleaning completed, surfaces generally clean but may have some minor dust or marks. Acceptable standard for routine operations.
FailVisible dirt, stains, or debris present. Unacceptable odors or untidy appearance. Cleaning tasks incomplete or inadequate. Requires immediate re-cleaning.
Documentation
  • Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
  • Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
  • Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
  • Photos: Before and after photos as requested to document cleaning completion and quality
