Objective

Ensure the shower room in the aged care facility is cleaned to the highest standards, maintaining hygiene and safety for all residents.

Scope of Work
  • Remove all visible dirt and debris from surfaces.
  • Sanitize all high-touch surfaces including shower handles, faucets, and grab bars.
  • Clean and disinfect shower walls, floors, and doors.
  • Wipe down and sanitize all fixtures and fittings.
  • Ensure drains are free of hair and debris.
  • Polish mirrors and any glass surfaces.
  • Empty and sanitize waste bins.
  • Replenish soap and other hygiene products as needed.
Method
  1. Begin by removing all loose debris and waste from the shower room.
  2. Apply a suitable cleaning agent to all surfaces, allowing appropriate dwell time.
  3. Scrub surfaces with a non-abrasive brush or cloth to remove grime and soap scum.
  4. Rinse surfaces thoroughly with clean water.
  5. Apply a disinfectant to all high-touch areas and allow to air dry.
  6. Wipe down mirrors and glass surfaces with a glass cleaner.
  7. Empty waste bins and replace liners.
  8. Check and refill soap dispensers and other hygiene products.

GoodMost surfaces clean with minimal dust or minor marks. Generally tidy appearance. All major cleaning tasks completed satisfactorily.
PassBasic cleaning completed, surfaces generally clean but may have some minor dust or marks. Acceptable standard for routine operations.
FailVisible dirt, stains, or debris present. Unacceptable odors or untidy appearance. Cleaning tasks incomplete or inadequate. Requires immediate re-cleaning.
Documentation
  • Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
  • Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
  • Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
