Objective

Ensure the treatment room in the aged care facility is cleaned to the highest standards to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for residents and staff.

Scope of Work
  • Dust all horizontal surfaces including countertops, shelves, and equipment.
  • Sanitize all high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and treatment tables.
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas and rugs.
  • Mop all hard floor surfaces with a disinfectant solution.
  • Wipe down all furniture and fixtures with appropriate cleaning agents.
  • Empty and sanitize waste bins and replace liners.
  • Clean and disinfect sinks and faucets.
  • Ensure all cleaning activities are documented and logged.
Method
  1. Begin by dusting all horizontal surfaces using a microfiber cloth to capture dust particles.
  2. Apply a hospital-grade disinfectant to all high-touch surfaces and allow appropriate contact time before wiping clean.
  3. Use a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner to vacuum all carpeted areas, ensuring corners and edges are thoroughly cleaned.
  4. Mop hard floors using a two-bucket system to prevent cross-contamination, ensuring the use of a disinfectant solution.
  5. Wipe down furniture and fixtures with a damp cloth and suitable cleaning agent, ensuring no residue is left behind.
  6. Empty waste bins, sanitize the interior and exterior, and replace with new liners.
  7. Clean sinks and faucets with a non-abrasive cleaner, ensuring all soap scum and mineral deposits are removed.
  8. Complete a cleaning checklist to ensure all tasks are performed and documented.

Documentation
