Objective
Ensure the comms room in the commercial office is maintained to the highest cleaning standards, ensuring a dust-free and sanitised environment to protect sensitive equipment.
Scope of Work
- Dust all surfaces including racks, shelves, and equipment exteriors.
- Vacuum floors using HEPA filter vacuum to minimise dust particles.
- Wipe down all accessible surfaces with anti-static cloths.
- Sanitise high-touch areas such as door handles and light switches.
- Empty rubbish bins and replace liners.
- Inspect and clean air vents and filters to ensure optimal air quality.
Method
- Prepare the area by ensuring all equipment is powered down if necessary and safe to do so.
- Use a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
- Dust surfaces using anti-static cloths to prevent static build-up.
- Vacuum the floor with a HEPA filter vacuum cleaner to capture fine dust particles.
- Wipe down surfaces with a damp anti-static cloth, ensuring no moisture is left behind.
- Sanitise high-touch areas with a suitable disinfectant.
- Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and dispose of waste according to environmental standards.
- Inspect air vents and filters, clean as necessary to maintain air quality.

Quality Criteria
Performance Level | Criteria |

Excellent | All surfaces are visibly dust-free, no streaks or residue on surfaces, air vents are clean, no odours present, rubbish bins are empty and clean. |
Good | Minor dust on non-critical surfaces, minimal streaks on surfaces, air vents mostly clean, no unpleasant odours, rubbish bins are empty but may have minor residue. |
Pass | Noticeable dust on some surfaces, visible streaks on surfaces, air vents have some dust build-up, slight odours present, rubbish bins are emptied but not cleaned. |
Fail | Significant dust accumulation, surfaces have visible residue, air vents are clogged with dust, strong odours present, rubbish bins are full or overflowing. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
- Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
- Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
- Photos: Before and after photos as requested to document cleaning completion and quality
