Objective
Ensure the Judge's Chambers in the Government Building are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, adhering to Australian workplace health and safety requirements.
Scope of Work
- Dust all surfaces including desks, shelves, and window sills.
- Vacuum carpets and rugs thoroughly.
- Mop hard floors using a damp mop and appropriate cleaning solution.
- Sanitise all high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and telephones.
- Empty rubbish bins and replace liners.
- Clean and polish glass surfaces and mirrors.
- Ensure all furniture is free from dust and stains.
- Check and refill any necessary supplies such as tissues and hand sanitiser.
Method
- Prepare the cleaning trolley with all necessary supplies and equipment, ensuring colour-coded cloths are used for different areas to prevent cross-contamination.
- Begin by dusting all surfaces using a microfibre cloth, starting from the highest point and working downwards.
- Vacuum carpets and rugs, paying special attention to corners and under furniture.
- Mop hard floors with a damp mop, using a neutral pH cleaner suitable for the floor type.
- Sanitise high-touch surfaces with a disinfectant spray, allowing appropriate contact time for effective germ kill.
- Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and dispose of waste in accordance with local regulations.
- Clean glass surfaces with a glass cleaner and a lint-free cloth, ensuring no streaks are left.
- Inspect all furniture for dust and stains, cleaning as necessary with appropriate products.
- Check supplies and refill as needed, ensuring all items are neatly organised.
