Objective

To ensure the playground area within the government building is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring safety and compliance with Australian health and safety regulations.

Scope of Work
  • Remove all rubbish and debris from the playground area.
  • Sanitise all play equipment, including swings, slides, and climbing structures.
  • Clean and sanitise seating areas and tables.
  • Sweep and mop hard surfaces, ensuring they are free from dirt and stains.
  • Inspect and clean soft fall surfaces, ensuring they are free from litter and contaminants.
  • Empty and sanitise rubbish bins.
  • Ensure all surfaces are free from graffiti and markings.
Method
  1. Begin by collecting all visible rubbish and debris, placing it in the appropriate rubbish bins.
  2. Use a colour-coded cleaning system to avoid cross-contamination: red for high-risk areas, blue for general areas.
  3. Apply a suitable sanitising solution to all play equipment, allowing adequate contact time before wiping clean.
  4. Use a broom to sweep hard surfaces, followed by mopping with a neutral detergent.
  5. For soft fall surfaces, use a vacuum designed for outdoor use to remove dirt and debris.
  6. Empty rubbish bins and replace liners, then sanitise the bin surfaces.
  7. Use a graffiti remover on any marked surfaces, ensuring the product is safe for the material.

FailSignificant rubbish and debris present. Play equipment is dirty with graffiti. Rubbish bins are overflowing and unsanitised. Soft fall surfaces are heavily contaminated.
