Objective

To ensure the shower facilities in the government building are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, adhering to Australian workplace health and safety requirements.

Scope of Work
  • Thorough cleaning and sanitising of all shower surfaces, including walls, floors, and fixtures.
  • Removal of soap scum, mould, and mildew from tiles and grout.
  • Cleaning and polishing of taps and showerheads.
  • Emptying and sanitising rubbish bins.
  • Refilling of soap dispensers and other consumables.
  • Inspection and cleaning of drains to prevent blockages.
  • Dusting and wiping of all surfaces, including benches and shelves.
  • Ensuring all mirrors and glass surfaces are streak-free.
  • Checking and maintaining the cleanliness of ventilation grilles.
Method
  1. Prepare the cleaning trolley with all necessary equipment and supplies, ensuring colour-coded cloths and mops are used to prevent cross-contamination.
  2. Begin by removing any rubbish and emptying bins, replacing liners as needed.
  3. Apply a suitable cleaning solution to all shower surfaces, allowing time for it to act on soap scum and grime.
  4. Scrub tiles and grout with a brush, focusing on areas with visible mould or mildew.
  5. Rinse surfaces thoroughly with clean water, ensuring no residue is left behind.
  6. Clean and polish taps and showerheads using a non-abrasive cleaner.
  7. Refill soap dispensers and check other consumables, replacing as necessary.
  8. Dust and wipe all surfaces, ensuring no dust or debris remains.
  9. Clean mirrors and glass surfaces with a glass cleaner, ensuring they are streak-free.
  10. Inspect and clean drains, removing any debris to prevent blockages.
  11. Check ventilation grilles and clean as necessary to ensure proper airflow.

PassVisible dirt or soap scum in some areas. Taps and fixtures may have water spots. Mild odours present. Consumables may be low. Drains are functioning but may have minor debris.
FailSignificant dirt, grime, or soap scum present. Taps and fixtures are dirty. Strong odours present. Consumables are depleted. Drains are blocked or not functioning properly.
