Objective

Ensure the clinical corridor in the healthcare facility is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, minimising the risk of infection and ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Scope of Work
  • Dust all horizontal surfaces including ledges, skirting boards, and window sills.
  • Sanitise all high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and handrails.
  • Spot clean walls and doors to remove marks and stains.
  • Vacuum carpeted areas and mop hard floors using appropriate cleaning solutions.
  • Empty rubbish bins and replace liners, ensuring waste is disposed of according to facility protocols.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment is cleaned and stored correctly after use.
Method
  1. Prepare cleaning trolley with colour-coded cleaning cloths and appropriate cleaning agents.
  2. Dust all surfaces using a microfibre cloth, starting from the highest point and working downwards.
  3. Sanitise high-touch areas with a hospital-grade disinfectant, ensuring contact time as per manufacturer's instructions.
  4. Spot clean walls and doors using a damp cloth and neutral detergent.
  5. Vacuum carpets using a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner to reduce airborne particles.
  6. Mop hard floors with a damp mop and a neutral pH floor cleaner, ensuring no residue is left.
  7. Dispose of waste in accordance with facility waste management protocols.
  8. Clean and store equipment, ensuring all cloths are laundered and mops are rinsed and dried.

FailSurfaces are dusty or marked. High-touch areas are not sanitised properly. Floors are dirty with visible streaks or debris. Unpleasant odours are present.
Documentation
