Objective
Ensure the clinical corridor in the healthcare facility is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, minimising the risk of infection and ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Scope of Work
- Dust all horizontal surfaces including ledges, skirting boards, and window sills.
- Sanitise all high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and handrails.
- Spot clean walls and doors to remove marks and stains.
- Vacuum carpeted areas and mop hard floors using appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Empty rubbish bins and replace liners, ensuring waste is disposed of according to facility protocols.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is cleaned and stored correctly after use.
Method
- Prepare cleaning trolley with colour-coded cleaning cloths and appropriate cleaning agents.
- Dust all surfaces using a microfibre cloth, starting from the highest point and working downwards.
- Sanitise high-touch areas with a hospital-grade disinfectant, ensuring contact time as per manufacturer's instructions.
- Spot clean walls and doors using a damp cloth and neutral detergent.
- Vacuum carpets using a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner to reduce airborne particles.
- Mop hard floors with a damp mop and a neutral pH floor cleaner, ensuring no residue is left.
- Dispose of waste in accordance with facility waste management protocols.
- Clean and store equipment, ensuring all cloths are laundered and mops are rinsed and dried.

| Fail | Surfaces are dusty or marked. High-touch areas are not sanitised properly. Floors are dirty with visible streaks or debris. Unpleasant odours are present. |
Documentation
