Objective
Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and infection control in the Nuclear Medicine space of a healthcare facility, adhering to Australian standards and guidelines.
Scope of Work
- Sanitising all surfaces including benches, equipment, and high-touch areas.
- Dusting and wiping all horizontal and vertical surfaces.
- Vacuuming and mopping floors with appropriate disinfectants.
- Emptying and sanitising rubbish bins.
- Cleaning and sanitising sinks and taps.
- Ensuring all cleaning activities comply with infection control protocols.
Method
- Prepare the cleaning trolley with colour-coded cleaning cloths and appropriate disinfectants.
- Dust all surfaces using a damp microfibre cloth to minimise airborne particles.
- Sanitise all high-touch areas including door handles, light switches, and equipment controls.
- Vacuum floors using a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner to capture fine particles.
- Mop floors with a hospital-grade disinfectant, ensuring no residue is left.
- Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and sanitise the bin interior and exterior.
- Clean sinks and taps with a non-abrasive cleaner and sanitise thoroughly.

Fail | Surfaces are visibly dirty with dust and smudges. Floors are dirty with significant residue. Strong odours present. High-touch areas are not sanitised. Infection control protocols are not followed or documented. |
