Objective
Ensure the diesel tank area is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, minimising risks associated with spills, contamination, and odours.
Scope of Work
- Remove all visible debris and rubbish from the area.
- Clean and sanitise all surfaces, including floors, walls, and any exposed equipment.
- Ensure all drains and grates are free from blockages and clean.
- Use appropriate cleaning agents to remove diesel residues and prevent odours.
- Implement a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
- Ensure all cleaning activities comply with Australian workplace health and safety requirements.
Method
- Inspect the area for any visible debris and remove it using appropriate tools.
- Apply a degreasing agent to all surfaces and scrub thoroughly to remove diesel residues.
- Rinse surfaces with water and ensure all cleaning agents are removed.
- Sanitise surfaces using an appropriate sanitising solution.
- Check drains and grates, removing any blockages and cleaning thoroughly.
- Conduct a final inspection to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards.

Pass | Some visible debris or stains; surfaces are generally clean but may have slight odours; drains and grates are partially blocked; some cleaning agent residue remains. |
Fail | Significant debris or stains; surfaces are dirty with strong odours; drains and grates are blocked; cleaning agents are not rinsed off. |
Documentation
