Objective
To ensure the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene for fuel trucks at transportation hubs, adhering to Australian cleaning standards and workplace health and safety requirements.
Scope of Work
- Thoroughly clean and sanitise all external surfaces of fuel trucks, including the cab, tank, and undercarriage.
- Remove all visible dirt, grime, and fuel residues from surfaces.
- Sanitise high-touch areas such as door handles, steering wheels, and control panels.
- Ensure all glass surfaces, including mirrors and windows, are free from smudges and streaks.
- Empty and clean rubbish bins within the cab area.
- Inspect and clean wheel arches and tyres to remove mud and debris.
- Utilise colour-coded cleaning systems to prevent cross-contamination.
Method
- Prepare cleaning solutions according to manufacturer's instructions and safety data sheets.
- Use a high-pressure washer to remove loose dirt and debris from the truck's exterior.
- Apply detergent solution to all surfaces using a soft brush or sponge, ensuring even coverage.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all detergent residues.
- Sanitise high-touch areas with an appropriate disinfectant, allowing the recommended contact time.
- Dry all surfaces with clean microfibre cloths to prevent water spots.
- Inspect the truck for any remaining dirt or residues and repeat cleaning steps as necessary.

Quality Criteria
Performance Level | Criteria |

Good | Minor traces of dirt or residues on less visible areas. High-touch areas are sanitised. Glass surfaces have minimal streaks. No strong odours present. |
Pass | Visible dirt or residues on some surfaces. High-touch areas are mostly sanitised. Glass surfaces have noticeable streaks. Mild odours present. |
Fail | Significant dirt, grime, or residues on multiple surfaces. High-touch areas are not sanitised. Glass surfaces are heavily streaked. Strong odours present. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
- Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
- Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
