Objective
To ensure the shower facilities at the transportation hub are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, providing a safe and pleasant environment for all users.
Scope of Work
- Thorough cleaning and sanitising of all shower cubicles, including walls, floors, and fixtures.
- Cleaning and sanitising of all taps, showerheads, and handles.
- Removal of rubbish and replenishment of consumables such as soap and paper towels.
- Cleaning and polishing of mirrors and glass surfaces.
- Dusting and wiping of all surfaces, including benches and shelves.
- Emptying and sanitising of rubbish bins.
- Inspection and cleaning of drains to prevent blockages and odours.
- Use of colour-coded cleaning systems to prevent cross-contamination.
Method
- Prepare the cleaning trolley with all necessary equipment and supplies, ensuring colour-coded cloths and mops are used.
- Remove all rubbish and dispose of it in the designated rubbish bins.
- Spray and wipe all surfaces with a suitable sanitising solution, paying special attention to high-touch areas such as taps and handles.
- Scrub shower floors and walls with a non-abrasive cleaner, ensuring all soap scum and grime are removed.
- Rinse all surfaces thoroughly with clean water and dry with a clean cloth.
- Polish mirrors and glass surfaces with a glass cleaner to remove streaks and smudges.
- Replenish all consumables, ensuring dispensers are clean and functioning correctly.
- Inspect and clean drains, ensuring they are free from debris and odours.
Equipment
- Cleaning trolley with colour-coded cleaning cloths and mops.
- Sanitising solutions and non-abrasive cleaners.
- Glass cleaner and polishing cloths.
- Rubbish bags and bin liners.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves and masks.
Quality Criteria
Performance Level | Criteria |

Excellent | All surfaces are spotless and sanitised, with no visible dirt, grime, or watermarks. Consumables are fully stocked, and bins are empty and sanitised. No odours present. |
Good | Surfaces are clean with minimal watermarks or smudges. Consumables are mostly stocked, and bins are empty. No strong odours present. |
Pass | Surfaces are generally clean but may have some watermarks or smudges. Consumables are available but may need replenishment soon. Mild odours may be present. |
Fail | Surfaces are visibly dirty or stained. Consumables are depleted, and bins are full. Strong odours are present. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
- Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
- Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
- Photos: Before and after photos as requested to document cleaning completion and quality
