Objective
Ensure the security fence at the transportation hub is clean, hygienic, and visually appealing, adhering to Australian cleaning standards and workplace health and safety requirements.
Scope of Work
- Remove all visible dirt, debris, and rubbish from the fence and surrounding area.
- Sanitise the fence surfaces to minimise microbial presence.
- Inspect and clean any signage attached to the fence.
- Ensure the base of the fence is free from accumulated rubbish and organic matter.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the fence to prevent rust and deterioration.
Method
- Use a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
- Begin by removing loose debris with a broom or brush.
- Apply a suitable cleaning solution using a spray bottle or pressure washer, ensuring even coverage.
- Scrub the fence with a brush to remove stubborn dirt and stains.
- Rinse the fence thoroughly with clean water.
- Sanitise the fence using an appropriate disinfectant, following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Wipe down any signage with a damp cloth and sanitise.
- Inspect the area for any remaining rubbish and dispose of it in the appropriate rubbish bin.

Quality Criteria
Performance Level | Criteria |

Excellent | Fence is free from all visible dirt, stains, and debris. Surfaces are sanitised, and no odours are present. Signage is clean and legible. Base of the fence is clear of rubbish. |
Good | Minor dirt or stains may be present but do not detract from overall cleanliness. Surfaces are sanitised, and signage is mostly clean and legible. Minimal rubbish at the base. |
Pass | Some visible dirt or stains are present. Surfaces are partially sanitised. Signage is readable but may have some dirt. Some rubbish accumulation at the base. |
Fail | Significant dirt, stains, or debris are present. Surfaces are not sanitised. Signage is dirty or illegible. Rubbish is accumulated at the base of the fence. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
- Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
- Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
- Photos: Before and after photos as requested to document cleaning completion and quality
