Objective
Ensure a clean, hygienic, and safe environment in the barber shop of the aged care facility, adhering to relevant cleaning standards.
Scope of Work
- Dust all surfaces including shelves, counters, and barber chairs.
- Sanitize barber chairs, headrests, and armrests.
- Clean and disinfect all mirrors and glass surfaces.
- Vacuum and mop floors to remove hair and debris.
- Wipe down and disinfect all door handles and light switches.
- Empty and sanitize waste bins.
- Clean and sanitize wash basins and surrounding areas.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are stored safely and securely.
Method
- Begin by dusting all surfaces using a microfiber cloth to capture dust and hair.
- Apply disinfectant to barber chairs, ensuring all contact surfaces are thoroughly wiped.
- Use glass cleaner to clean mirrors and glass surfaces, ensuring no streaks are left.
- Vacuum the floor to remove loose hair and debris, followed by mopping with a disinfectant solution.
- Wipe down door handles and light switches with disinfectant wipes.
- Empty waste bins, replace liners, and sanitize the interior and exterior of the bins.
- Clean wash basins with a non-abrasive cleaner, followed by a disinfectant spray.
- Store all cleaning supplies in a designated area, ensuring they are labeled and secure.

Fail | Visible dirt, stains, or debris present. Unacceptable odors or untidy appearance. Cleaning tasks incomplete or inadequate. Requires immediate re-cleaning. |
Documentation
