Objective

To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the Dementia Wing of the Aged Care Facility, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Scope of Work
  • Dusting of all surfaces including furniture, ledges, and fixtures.
  • Vacuuming of carpets and rugs.
  • Mopping of hard floors using appropriate disinfectants.
  • Sanitising of high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and handrails.
  • Cleaning and sanitising of toilets and wash basins.
  • Emptying and sanitising rubbish bins.
  • Spot cleaning of walls and doors to remove marks and stains.
  • Ensuring all cleaning is conducted using colour-coded cleaning systems to prevent cross-contamination.
Method
  1. Prepare cleaning trolley with all necessary equipment and supplies, ensuring colour-coded cloths and mops are used.
  2. Begin by dusting all surfaces from high to low to prevent recontamination.
  3. Vacuum carpets and rugs thoroughly, paying attention to corners and edges.
  4. Mop hard floors using a two-bucket system to ensure effective cleaning and sanitising.
  5. Sanitise high-touch areas using disinfectant wipes or sprays, ensuring full coverage.
  6. Clean toilets and wash basins with appropriate cleaning agents, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised.
  7. Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and sanitise the bin interior and exterior.
  8. Conduct a final inspection to ensure all areas meet the required cleanliness standards.

PassSurfaces have some dust or marks. Floors have visible debris in some areas. High-touch areas are partially sanitised. Noticeable odours present. Rubbish bins are not overflowing but not fully sanitised.
FailSurfaces are visibly dusty or dirty. Floors have significant debris. High-touch areas are not sanitised. Strong unpleasant odours present. Rubbish bins are overflowing or unsanitised.
