Objective
Ensure a clean, safe, and respectful environment in the multi-faith room of the aged care facility, adhering to high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
Scope of Work
- Dust all horizontal surfaces including shelves, window sills, and furniture.
- Vacuum carpeted areas and rugs.
- Mop hard floor surfaces with a disinfectant solution.
- Wipe down all seating and prayer mats with a suitable cleaner.
- Sanitize all high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and handrails.
- Empty and sanitize waste bins.
- Clean and polish glass surfaces and mirrors.
- Ensure all cleaning products used are suitable for the multi-faith environment and do not contain any substances that may be offensive to any faith.
Method
- Begin by dusting all horizontal surfaces using a microfiber cloth to capture dust effectively.
- Vacuum all carpeted areas and rugs, ensuring to reach corners and under furniture.
- Mop hard floor surfaces using a mop and bucket with a disinfectant solution, ensuring the floor is not left slippery.
- Wipe down seating and prayer mats with a non-abrasive cleaner, ensuring no residue is left.
- Sanitize high-touch surfaces using a disinfectant wipe or spray, allowing the surface to air dry.
- Empty waste bins, replace liners, and sanitize the interior and exterior of the bins.
- Clean glass surfaces with a glass cleaner and polish with a lint-free cloth.
- Ensure all cleaning activities respect the multi-faith nature of the room, using neutral products.

Quality Criteria

Good | Most surfaces clean with minimal dust or minor marks. Generally tidy appearance. All major cleaning tasks completed satisfactorily. |
Pass | Basic cleaning completed, surfaces generally clean but may have some minor dust or marks. Acceptable standard for routine operations. |
Fail | Visible dirt, stains, or debris present. Unacceptable odors or untidy appearance. Cleaning tasks incomplete or inadequate. Requires immediate re-cleaning. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
- Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
- Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
- Photos: Before and after photos as requested to document cleaning completion and quality
