Objective
To maintain a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment in the piano room of the aged care facility, ensuring the health and safety of residents, staff, and visitors.
Scope of Work
- Dusting of all surfaces including piano, furniture, and decorative items.
- Vacuuming of carpeted areas and rugs.
- Mopping of hard floor surfaces.
- Sanitising of high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and piano keys.
- Emptying and sanitising rubbish bins.
- Cleaning of windows and glass surfaces.
- Spot cleaning of walls and skirting boards.
Method
- Begin by dusting all surfaces using a microfibre cloth, ensuring to use a colour-coded system to prevent cross-contamination.
- Vacuum carpeted areas thoroughly, paying special attention to corners and under furniture.
- Mop hard floor surfaces with a neutral pH cleaner, ensuring no residue is left.
- Sanitise high-touch areas with an approved disinfectant, following the manufacturer's instructions for dwell time.
- Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and sanitise the interior and exterior of the bins.
- Clean windows and glass surfaces using a glass cleaner and a squeegee for a streak-free finish.
- Conduct spot cleaning of walls and skirting boards as needed to remove marks and stains.

Pass | Noticeable dust on surfaces; floors have some residue; mild odours present; high-touch areas are partially sanitised; windows have visible streaks; rubbish bins are not emptied or sanitised. |
Fail | Heavy dust accumulation; floors are dirty or sticky; strong odours present; high-touch areas are not sanitised; windows are dirty; rubbish bins are overflowing and unsanitised. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
