Objective
Ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for residents in aged care facility rooms.
Scope of Work
- Dust all surfaces including furniture, window sills, and fixtures.
- Vacuum carpets and rugs thoroughly.
- Mop hard floors with appropriate disinfectant solution.
- Sanitize high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and remote controls.
- Clean and disinfect bathroom fixtures including sinks, toilets, and showers.
- Empty waste bins and replace liners.
- Wipe down mirrors and glass surfaces.
- Ensure all cleaning activities comply with infection control protocols.
Method
- Begin by dusting all surfaces using a microfiber cloth to trap dust particles.
- Vacuum carpets and rugs, ensuring to reach under furniture and in corners.
- Mop hard floors using a two-bucket system to prevent cross-contamination.
- Apply disinfectant to high-touch areas and allow appropriate contact time before wiping.
- Use a non-abrasive cleaner for bathroom fixtures, ensuring thorough rinsing.
- Dispose of waste in accordance with facility waste management procedures.
- Use glass cleaner for mirrors and glass surfaces, wiping with a lint-free cloth.
- Conduct a final inspection to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards.

Documentation
