Objective

Ensure the Walking Aid Store in the Aged Care Facility is maintained in a clean and hygienic condition to prevent contamination and ensure safety for residents and staff.

Scope of Work
  • Dust all surfaces, including shelves and storage units.
  • Sanitize all high-touch areas such as door handles and light switches.
  • Vacuum the floor to remove dust and debris.
  • Mop the floor with a disinfectant solution.
  • Wipe down all walking aids with an appropriate disinfectant.
  • Empty and sanitize waste bins.
Method
  1. Begin by dusting all surfaces using a microfiber cloth to capture dust particles.
  2. Sanitize high-touch areas with a hospital-grade disinfectant spray and allow to air dry.
  3. Use a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter to vacuum the floor thoroughly.
  4. Mop the floor using a mop and bucket with a disinfectant solution, ensuring all areas are covered.
  5. Wipe down each walking aid with disinfectant wipes, ensuring all parts are cleaned.
  6. Empty waste bins, replace liners, and sanitize the interior and exterior of the bins.

Documentation

  • Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
