Objective
Ensure the chiller room in the government building is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, adhering to Australian workplace health and safety requirements.
Scope of Work
- Dust and wipe all surfaces including shelves, ledges, and equipment exteriors.
- Sanitise all high-touch areas such as door handles and light switches.
- Vacuum and mop floors using appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Empty and sanitise rubbish bins.
- Ensure all cleaning is performed using a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
Method
- Prepare the cleaning trolley with all necessary equipment and supplies, ensuring colour-coded cloths and mops are used.
- Dust all surfaces using a microfibre cloth, starting from the highest point and working downwards.
- Sanitise high-touch areas with a disinfectant solution, allowing appropriate contact time.
- Vacuum the floor using a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner to remove dust and debris.
- Mop the floor with a neutral pH cleaner, ensuring no residue is left behind.
- Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and sanitise the bin interior and exterior.

Quality Criteria
| Performance Level | Criteria |
|---|
| Excellent | All surfaces are visibly clean and free from dust and marks. Floors are spotless with no residue. No odours present. High-touch areas are sanitised and free from smudges. |
| Good | Minor dust or marks on less than 5% of surfaces. Floors are clean with minimal residue. No unpleasant odours. High-touch areas are mostly sanitised. |
| Pass | Noticeable dust or marks on 10% of surfaces. Floors have some residue. Slight odours may be present. High-touch areas are partially sanitised. |
| Fail | Visible dust or marks on more than 10% of surfaces. Floors are dirty with significant residue. Unpleasant odours present. High-touch areas are not sanitised. |
Documentation
