Objective

To ensure the chemical storage area in the government building is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, minimising risks associated with chemical exposure and ensuring compliance with Australian workplace health and safety requirements.

Scope of Work
  • Dusting of all surfaces, including shelves and containers.
  • Sanitising of floors and high-touch surfaces.
  • Removal of rubbish and proper disposal of chemical waste.
  • Inspection and cleaning of spill containment areas.
  • Ensuring all labels and safety signs are visible and clean.
  • Checking and cleaning of ventilation grilles and air vents.
Method
  1. Use a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
  2. Dust all surfaces using a microfibre cloth to capture fine particles.
  3. Sanitise floors with a mop and appropriate chemical-resistant cleaning solution.
  4. Empty rubbish bins and replace liners, ensuring proper disposal of chemical waste.
  5. Inspect spill containment areas and clean any residues with suitable absorbent materials.
  6. Wipe down all labels and safety signs to ensure they are legible and free from dust.
  7. Clean ventilation grilles and air vents using a vacuum with a HEPA filter.
