Objective

To ensure the exercise equipment in the government building is cleaned and sanitised to the highest Australian standards, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for all users.

Scope of Work
  • Dusting of all exercise equipment surfaces.
  • Sanitising of high-touch areas such as handles, seats, and control panels.
  • Wiping down of all equipment frames and bases.
  • Vacuuming of surrounding floors to remove dust and debris.
  • Mopping of floors with appropriate disinfectant solution.
  • Emptying and sanitising of rubbish bins in the exercise area.
Method
  1. Assemble cleaning trolley with all necessary supplies, ensuring colour-coded cloths are used for different surfaces.
  2. Dust all equipment surfaces using a microfibre cloth to capture dust particles.
  3. Apply a sanitising solution to high-touch areas and wipe thoroughly.
  4. Use a damp cloth to wipe down equipment frames and bases, ensuring no streaks or residue remain.
  5. Vacuum the floor area around the equipment to remove any dust or debris.
  6. Mop the floor using a disinfectant solution, ensuring even coverage and allowing to air dry.
  7. Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and sanitise the bin surfaces.

GoodSurfaces are mostly clean with minimal dust or streaks. High-touch areas are sanitised with minor marks. Floors are clean with slight dampness. No strong odours present.
PassSurfaces have some dust or streaks. High-touch areas are sanitised but may have visible marks. Floors are mostly clean but may have some damp spots. Mild odours may be present.
FailSurfaces are dusty or streaked. High-touch areas are not properly sanitised. Floors are dirty or wet. Strong odours are present.
Documentation
  • Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
  • Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
  • Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
  • Photos: Before and after photos as requested to document cleaning completion and quality
