Objective
To ensure the exercise equipment in the government building is cleaned and sanitised to the highest Australian standards, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for all users.
Scope of Work
- Dusting of all exercise equipment surfaces.
- Sanitising of high-touch areas such as handles, seats, and control panels.
- Wiping down of all equipment frames and bases.
- Vacuuming of surrounding floors to remove dust and debris.
- Mopping of floors with appropriate disinfectant solution.
- Emptying and sanitising of rubbish bins in the exercise area.
Method
- Assemble cleaning trolley with all necessary supplies, ensuring colour-coded cloths are used for different surfaces.
- Dust all equipment surfaces using a microfibre cloth to capture dust particles.
- Apply a sanitising solution to high-touch areas and wipe thoroughly.
- Use a damp cloth to wipe down equipment frames and bases, ensuring no streaks or residue remain.
- Vacuum the floor area around the equipment to remove any dust or debris.
- Mop the floor using a disinfectant solution, ensuring even coverage and allowing to air dry.
- Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and sanitise the bin surfaces.

Quality Criteria
| Performance Level | Criteria |

| Good | Surfaces are mostly clean with minimal dust or streaks. High-touch areas are sanitised with minor marks. Floors are clean with slight dampness. No strong odours present. |
| Pass | Surfaces have some dust or streaks. High-touch areas are sanitised but may have visible marks. Floors are mostly clean but may have some damp spots. Mild odours may be present. |
| Fail | Surfaces are dusty or streaked. High-touch areas are not properly sanitised. Floors are dirty or wet. Strong odours are present. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
- Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
- Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
- Photos: Before and after photos as requested to document cleaning completion and quality
