Objective
Ensure the picnic area in the government building is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, providing a safe and pleasant environment for all users.
Scope of Work
- Remove all rubbish and debris from the picnic area.
- Sanitise all picnic tables and benches.
- Sweep and mop the floor surfaces.
- Clean and sanitise rubbish bins and replace liners.
- Wipe down and sanitise all touchpoints, including railings and taps.
- Inspect and clean surrounding areas for litter and debris.
Method
- Begin by collecting all visible rubbish and debris, placing it in the rubbish bin.
- Use a colour-coded cleaning system to avoid cross-contamination, ensuring separate cloths for tables, benches, and bins.
- Sanitise picnic tables and benches using an approved disinfectant, allowing appropriate contact time.
- Sweep the floor area to remove loose dirt and debris.
- Mop the floor using a neutral detergent, ensuring no residue is left.
- Empty rubbish bins, clean and sanitise them, and replace liners.
- Wipe down all touchpoints with a disinfectant wipe.
- Conduct a final inspection to ensure all areas are clean and free of rubbish.

Quality Criteria
Performance Level | Criteria |

Good | Surfaces are mostly clean with minor spots, minimal rubbish present, bins are clean with new liners, faint odours may be present, most touchpoints are sanitised. |
Pass | Surfaces are generally clean with some visible dirt, some rubbish present, bins are emptied but not fully sanitised, noticeable odours, some touchpoints missed. |
Fail | Surfaces are visibly dirty, significant rubbish present, bins are not emptied or sanitised, strong odours, most touchpoints are missed. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
