Objective
To ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the radiation monitoring area of a government building, adhering to Australian cleaning standards and workplace health and safety requirements.
Scope of Work
- Dusting of all horizontal surfaces including desks, shelves, and equipment.
- Sanitising of all high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and control panels.
- Vacuuming of carpeted areas and mopping of hard floors.
- Emptying and sanitising rubbish bins.
- Cleaning and sanitising of toilets and washbasins.
- Wiping down of walls and partitions.
- Ensuring all cleaning activities comply with radiation safety protocols.
Method
- Prepare the cleaning trolley with all necessary equipment and colour-coded cloths.
- Dust all horizontal surfaces using a microfibre cloth.
- Sanitise high-touch surfaces with an approved disinfectant.
- Vacuum carpeted areas using a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner.
- Mop hard floors with a neutral pH cleaner.
- Empty rubbish bins and replace liners, sanitising the bin interior.
- Clean toilets and washbasins with a disinfectant cleaner.
- Wipe down walls and partitions with a damp cloth.
- Ensure all waste is disposed of according to radiation safety guidelines.

Quality Criteria

| Fail | Visible dust and dirt on surfaces. High-touch areas are not sanitised. Floors are dirty with significant debris. Rubbish bins are full or unsanitised. Strong odours present. Non-compliance with radiation safety protocols. |
