Objective

To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in shared bathroom facilities within hospitality environments, ensuring compliance with Australian cleaning standards and workplace health and safety requirements.

Scope of Work
  • Thorough cleaning and sanitising of all surfaces including sinks, toilets, and shower areas.
  • Removal of rubbish and replacement of bin liners.
  • Refilling of soap dispensers and toilet paper holders.
  • Cleaning of mirrors and glass surfaces to a streak-free finish.
  • Dusting and wiping of all fixtures and fittings.
  • Mopping of floors with appropriate disinfectant solutions.
  • Inspection and cleaning of ventilation grilles and air vents.
  • Ensuring all drains are clear and free from blockages.
Method
  1. Prepare the cleaning trolley with all necessary supplies and equipment, ensuring colour-coded cloths and mops are used to prevent cross-contamination.
  2. Remove rubbish from bins and replace liners, ensuring proper disposal according to facility guidelines.
  3. Apply disinfectant to all surfaces, allowing appropriate dwell time for effective sanitising.
  4. Clean and polish mirrors and glass surfaces using a glass cleaner and microfibre cloth.
  5. Dust and wipe down all fixtures, fittings, and high-touch areas with a damp cloth.
  6. Mop floors using a disinfectant solution, ensuring no residue is left behind.
  7. Inspect and clean ventilation grilles and air vents to ensure proper airflow.
  8. Check and refill soap dispensers and toilet paper holders as needed.
  9. Conduct a final inspection to ensure all areas meet the required cleanliness standards.

ExcellentAll surfaces are spotless and sanitised, no visible dust or debris, mirrors and glass are streak-free, no odours present, all consumables fully stocked.
GoodSurfaces are clean with minimal dust, mirrors and glass have minor streaks, no strong odours, most consumables stocked.
PassSurfaces are generally clean but may have some dust, mirrors and glass have visible streaks, mild odours present, some consumables low.
FailSurfaces are visibly dirty, mirrors and glass are streaked, strong odours present, consumables are empty or nearly empty.
Documentation
  • Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
  • Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
  • Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
  • Photos: Before and after photos as requested to document cleaning completion and quality
