Objective
Ensure the bathroom in the healthcare facility is cleaned to the highest standards, maintaining hygiene and infection control as per Australian Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of Infection in Healthcare.
Scope of Work
- Dust all surfaces including ledges, sills, and fixtures.
- Clean and sanitise all sinks, taps, and countertops.
- Clean and sanitise toilets, including seats, lids, and flush handles.
- Clean mirrors and glass surfaces to a streak-free finish.
- Empty and sanitise rubbish bins, replace liners.
- Mop floors with a disinfectant solution.
- Replenish toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
- Check and clean vents and grilles for dust accumulation.
Method
- Prepare cleaning trolley with colour-coded cloths and mops, ensuring all necessary cleaning agents are stocked.
- Dust surfaces using a damp microfibre cloth to capture dust particles.
- Apply disinfectant to sinks, taps, and countertops, allowing appropriate dwell time before wiping clean.
- Use a toilet brush and disinfectant to scrub toilets, ensuring all surfaces are covered.
- Spray glass cleaner on mirrors and glass surfaces, wiping with a lint-free cloth.
- Empty rubbish bins, sanitise interiors, and replace liners.
- Mop floors using a two-bucket system to prevent cross-contamination.
- Restock consumables, ensuring dispensers are functioning correctly.
- Inspect vents and grilles, wiping with a damp cloth if necessary.
