Objective
Ensure the delivery area of the healthcare facility is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, adhering to Australian health and safety regulations and infection control guidelines.
Scope of Work
- Dust all horizontal surfaces including shelves, ledges, and equipment.
- Sanitise all high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and handrails.
- Mop floors with a disinfectant solution suitable for healthcare environments.
- Empty and sanitise rubbish bins, replacing liners as needed.
- Clean and sanitise any sinks and taps.
- Ensure all cleaning is performed using a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
Method
- Prepare the cleaning trolley with all necessary supplies, ensuring colour-coded cloths and mops are used.
- Dust all surfaces using a damp microfibre cloth to capture dust and prevent dispersal.
- Apply a hospital-grade disinfectant to all high-touch surfaces and allow appropriate contact time before wiping.
- Mop the floor using a two-bucket system to ensure clean and dirty water are kept separate.
- Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and sanitise the bin interior and exterior.
- Inspect the area to ensure all tasks are completed to the required standard.

Fail | Surfaces are visibly dusty or dirty. High-touch areas are not properly sanitised. Floors have visible dirt, streaks, or residue. Unpleasant odours are present. Rubbish bins are not emptied or cleaned. |
Documentation
