Objective
Ensure the isolation room in the healthcare facility is cleaned to the highest standards to prevent infection and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Scope of Work
- Dust all horizontal surfaces including window sills, ledges, and furniture.
- Sanitise all high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and bed rails.
- Clean and disinfect the floor using a mop and appropriate disinfectant.
- Empty and sanitise rubbish bins, replacing liners as needed.
- Clean and sanitise the bathroom facilities, including the toilet, sink, and taps.
- Ensure all cleaning is performed using a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
Method
- Prepare the cleaning trolley with all necessary equipment and supplies, ensuring colour-coded cloths and mops are used.
- Dust all surfaces using a damp microfibre cloth to capture dust particles.
- Sanitise high-touch areas with a hospital-grade disinfectant, allowing appropriate contact time for effectiveness.
- Mop the floor using a two-bucket system to ensure clean and dirty water are kept separate.
- Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and sanitise the bin interior and exterior.
- Clean bathroom facilities with appropriate disinfectants, ensuring all surfaces are thoroughly wiped and dried.

Documentation
