Objective
Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and infection control in the Post-Op Room of a Healthcare Facility, adhering to Australian cleaning standards and practices.
Scope of Work
- Sanitising all surfaces including bed frames, side tables, and medical equipment.
- Dusting and wiping all horizontal surfaces including window sills and ledges.
- Mopping floors with hospital-grade disinfectant.
- Emptying and sanitising rubbish bins.
- Cleaning and sanitising sinks and taps.
- Ensuring all high-touch areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised.
- Checking and restocking hand sanitiser dispensers.
Method
- Prepare the cleaning trolley with colour-coded cleaning cloths and hospital-grade disinfectants.
- Begin by dusting and wiping all horizontal surfaces using a damp microfibre cloth.
- Sanitise all high-touch areas including door handles, light switches, and bed controls.
- Empty rubbish bins and replace liners, then sanitise the bin exterior.
- Clean and sanitise sinks and taps, ensuring no water spots remain.
- Mop the floor using a two-bucket system to prevent cross-contamination.
- Inspect the room for any missed areas and ensure all surfaces are dry and free of streaks.
