Objective
Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene in public toilets within healthcare facilities, adhering to Australian standards for infection control and public health.
Scope of Work
- Thorough cleaning and sanitising of all toilet surfaces, including bowls, seats, and lids.
- Cleaning and sanitising of sinks, taps, and surrounding areas.
- Wiping and sanitising of all touchpoints such as door handles, light switches, and dispensers.
- Emptying and sanitising rubbish bins.
- Replenishing of toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitiser dispensers.
- Spot cleaning of walls and partitions.
- Floor cleaning including sweeping and mopping with disinfectant.
- Ensuring no unpleasant odours are present.
Method
- Prepare the cleaning trolley with all necessary supplies, ensuring colour-coded cloths and mops are used to prevent cross-contamination.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as per Australian health and safety guidelines.
- Begin by emptying rubbish bins and replacing liners.
- Clean and sanitise all toilet surfaces using a disinfectant cleaner, ensuring all surfaces are wiped dry.
- Clean and sanitise sinks and taps, ensuring no water spots or residue remain.
- Wipe and sanitise all touchpoints, ensuring thorough coverage.
- Replenish consumables such as toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitiser.
- Sweep the floor to remove debris, then mop with a disinfectant solution, ensuring the floor is left dry and streak-free.
- Conduct a final inspection to ensure all areas are clean, sanitised, and free of odours.
Equipment
- Cleaning trolley with colour-coded cleaning cloths and mops.
- Disinfectant cleaner suitable for healthcare environments.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves and masks.
