Objective

Ensure the Recovery Ward in the healthcare facility is cleaned to the highest standards, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff, in compliance with Australian health and safety regulations.

Scope of Work
  • Dust all horizontal surfaces including beds, tables, and shelves.
  • Sanitise all high-touch areas such as bed rails, light switches, and door handles.
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas and mop hard floors with appropriate disinfectant.
  • Empty and sanitise rubbish bins, replacing liners as needed.
  • Clean and sanitise bathroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, and taps.
  • Ensure all cleaning is performed using colour-coded cleaning systems to prevent cross-contamination.
Method
  1. Prepare cleaning trolley with all necessary supplies and equipment, ensuring colour-coded cloths and mops are used.
  2. Dust all surfaces using a damp microfibre cloth to capture dust and prevent dispersal.
  3. Sanitise high-touch areas with hospital-grade disinfectant, allowing appropriate contact time for efficacy.
  4. Vacuum carpets using a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner to reduce airborne particles.
  5. Mop hard floors with a neutral pH disinfectant, ensuring no residue is left.
  6. Clean bathroom facilities with appropriate disinfectants, ensuring all surfaces are thoroughly wiped and dried.
  7. Dispose of waste in accordance with healthcare facility protocols, ensuring bins are sanitised and liners replaced.
