Objective

Ensure the triage area in the healthcare facility is cleaned to the highest standards, maintaining a hygienic and safe environment for patients and staff, in compliance with Australian health and safety regulations.

Scope of Work
  • Dust all surfaces including counters, desks, and equipment.
  • Sanitise all high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and telephones.
  • Vacuum and mop floors using a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Empty and sanitise rubbish bins, replacing liners as needed.
  • Clean and sanitise seating areas and patient examination surfaces.
  • Ensure all cleaning activities comply with infection control guidelines.
Method
  1. Begin by donning appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as per Australian health guidelines.
  2. Use a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination between different areas.
  3. Dust surfaces using a microfibre cloth to capture dust and allergens.
  4. Sanitise high-touch areas with a hospital-grade disinfectant.
  5. Vacuum floors using a HEPA-filtered vacuum cleaner to reduce airborne particles.
  6. Mop floors with a neutral detergent and sanitiser, ensuring no residue is left.
  7. Dispose of waste in accordance with healthcare waste management protocols.

Documentation
  • Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
