Objective
Ensure the triage area in the healthcare facility is cleaned to the highest standards, maintaining a hygienic and safe environment for patients and staff, in compliance with Australian health and safety regulations.
Scope of Work
- Dust all surfaces including counters, desks, and equipment.
- Sanitise all high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and telephones.
- Vacuum and mop floors using a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
- Empty and sanitise rubbish bins, replacing liners as needed.
- Clean and sanitise seating areas and patient examination surfaces.
- Ensure all cleaning activities comply with infection control guidelines.
Method
- Begin by donning appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as per Australian health guidelines.
- Use a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination between different areas.
- Dust surfaces using a microfibre cloth to capture dust and allergens.
- Sanitise high-touch areas with a hospital-grade disinfectant.
- Vacuum floors using a HEPA-filtered vacuum cleaner to reduce airborne particles.
- Mop floors with a neutral detergent and sanitiser, ensuring no residue is left.
- Dispose of waste in accordance with healthcare waste management protocols.

Documentation
