Objective

Ensure the treatment room in the healthcare facility is cleaned to the highest standards, maintaining a hygienic and safe environment for patients and staff, in compliance with Australian cleaning and infection control standards.

Scope of Work
  • Dust all horizontal surfaces including shelves, ledges, and equipment.
  • Sanitise all high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and treatment tables.
  • Vacuum and mop floors using a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Empty rubbish bins and replace liners, ensuring waste is disposed of according to healthcare regulations.
  • Clean and sanitise sinks and taps, ensuring no water spots or residue remain.
  • Check and restock hand sanitiser dispensers and soap dispensers.
  • Ensure all cleaning is conducted using appropriate PPE to comply with infection control guidelines.
Method
  1. Prepare the cleaning trolley with all necessary supplies, ensuring colour-coded cloths and mops are used.
  2. Dust all surfaces from high to low to prevent recontamination.
  3. Sanitise high-touch areas using a hospital-grade disinfectant.
  4. Vacuum the floor using a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner to capture fine particles.
  5. Mop the floor with a damp mop, using a neutral detergent, and ensure the floor is dry before leaving the area.
  6. Dispose of waste in accordance with healthcare waste management protocols.
  7. Conduct a final inspection to ensure all areas meet the quality criteria.
