Objective

Ensure the X-Ray Room in the healthcare facility is cleaned to the highest standards, maintaining a hygienic and safe environment for patients and staff, in compliance with Australian health and safety regulations.

Scope of Work
  • Dust all surfaces including equipment, ledges, and furniture.
  • Sanitise all high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and equipment controls.
  • Vacuum and mop floors using a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Empty and sanitise rubbish bins.
  • Clean and sanitise sinks and taps.
  • Ensure all cleaning is performed in accordance with infection control guidelines.
Method
  1. Prepare the cleaning trolley with appropriate colour-coded cloths and mops.
  2. Dust all surfaces using a microfibre cloth to capture dust particles.
  3. Sanitise high-touch areas with a hospital-grade disinfectant.
  4. Vacuum the floor using a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner to minimise airborne particles.
  5. Mop the floor with a damp mop using a neutral detergent, ensuring no residue is left.
  6. Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and sanitise the bin interior and exterior.
  7. Clean sinks and taps with a non-abrasive cleaner, ensuring all surfaces are free from limescale and soap scum.

GoodMost surfaces are clean with minimal dust or smudges. High-touch areas are mostly sanitised with minor residue. Floors are clean with minor streaks. Rubbish bins are empty but may have minor odours.
PassSurfaces have some dust or smudges. High-touch areas are partially sanitised. Floors have visible streaks or marks. Rubbish bins are not completely sanitised and have noticeable odours.
FailSurfaces are visibly dirty with dust and smudges. High-touch areas are not sanitised. Floors are dirty with significant streaks or marks. Rubbish bins are full or not sanitised, with strong odours present.
Documentation
  • Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
  • Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
  • Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
