Objective

To ensure the Battery Room is maintained in a clean and safe condition, minimising hazards and adhering to Australian cleaning standards.

Scope of Work
  • Dust all surfaces, including shelves and equipment.
  • Sanitise all high-touch surfaces, including door handles and switches.
  • Mop floors with appropriate cleaning solution to remove dirt and spills.
  • Empty rubbish bins and replace liners.
  • Inspect and clean ventilation grilles to ensure dust-free airflow.
  • Wipe down walls and remove any visible stains or marks.
  • Ensure all cleaning activities comply with relevant safety protocols for handling chemicals in battery environments.
Method
  1. Prepare the cleaning trolley with all necessary equipment and supplies, ensuring colour-coded cloths are used for different areas.
  2. Dust all surfaces using a microfibre cloth, starting from the highest point and working downwards.
  3. Sanitise high-touch surfaces with an approved disinfectant, allowing appropriate contact time.
  4. Mop the floor using a wet mop and a suitable cleaning solution, ensuring no excess water is left on the floor.
  5. Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and dispose of waste according to facility protocols.
  6. Clean ventilation grilles with a vacuum or damp cloth to remove dust build-up.
  7. Wipe down walls with a damp cloth, focusing on areas with visible stains or marks.
