Objective
Ensure the compactor area is maintained in a clean and hygienic condition, minimising risks associated with waste handling and ensuring compliance with Australian workplace health and safety standards.
Scope of Work
- Remove all visible rubbish and debris from the compactor area.
- Sweep and mop the floor using appropriate cleaning agents.
- Sanitise all touchpoints, including control panels and handles.
- Wipe down external surfaces of the compactor with a damp cloth.
- Ensure all rubbish bins are emptied and cleaned.
- Check for and remove any unpleasant odours.
Method
- Begin by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves and safety goggles.
- Use a broom to sweep the entire floor area, collecting debris into a dustpan and disposing of it in the designated rubbish bin.
- Prepare a mop bucket with a suitable cleaning solution and mop the floor, ensuring all areas are covered.
- Use a sanitising spray and cloth to clean all touchpoints, ensuring thorough coverage.
- Wipe down the external surfaces of the compactor with a damp cloth to remove dust and grime.
- Empty all rubbish bins, replace liners, and clean the bins with a disinfectant spray.
- Use an odour neutraliser if necessary to ensure the area is free from unpleasant smells.

Documentation
