Objective
To ensure the chiller plant is maintained in a clean and hygienic condition, meeting Australian cleaning standards and workplace health and safety requirements.
Scope of Work
- Dusting of all surfaces including machinery, pipes, and ledges.
- Sanitising of high-touch areas such as control panels and door handles.
- Vacuuming of floors to remove dust and debris.
- Mopping of floors with appropriate cleaning solution to prevent slip hazards.
- Emptying and cleaning of rubbish bins.
- Cleaning of windows and glass surfaces to ensure visibility and safety.
- Inspection and cleaning of drains to prevent blockages and odours.
Method
- Prepare the area by removing any obstacles and ensuring safety signage is in place.
- Use a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
- Dust all surfaces using a microfibre cloth or duster.
- Sanitise high-touch areas with an approved disinfectant.
- Vacuum floors using an industrial vacuum cleaner.
- Mop floors with a non-slip cleaning solution.
- Empty rubbish bins and replace liners.
- Clean windows and glass surfaces with a glass cleaner and squeegee.
- Inspect and clean drains using appropriate tools and cleaning agents.

Pass | Noticeable dust on surfaces; high-touch areas partially sanitised; floors have visible dirt; some rubbish present; windows have streaks; drains have minor blockages. |
Fail | Heavy dust accumulation; high-touch areas unsanitised; floors dirty and wet; overflowing rubbish; windows dirty; drains blocked and odorous. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
- Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
- Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
- Photos: Before and after photos as requested to document cleaning completion and quality
