Objective
To ensure the Silo Area is maintained at the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene, adhering to Australian cleaning standards and workplace health and safety requirements.
Scope of Work
- Dusting all surfaces, including silo exteriors and surrounding areas.
- Sanitising high-touch areas and surfaces.
- Vacuuming floors and removing debris.
- Mopping hard floor surfaces with appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Emptying and sanitising rubbish bins.
- Cleaning and sanitising any accessible equipment surfaces.
Method
- Prepare the area by removing any loose debris and ensuring safety protocols are in place.
- Use a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
- Dust all surfaces using microfibre cloths to capture dust particles effectively.
- Sanitise high-touch areas with approved disinfectants.
- Vacuum floors using industrial-grade vacuum cleaners.
- Mop floors with a neutral pH cleaner suitable for industrial environments.
- Dispose of rubbish in designated bins and sanitise bin surfaces.

Quality Criteria
Performance Level | Criteria |

Good | Minor dust on non-essential surfaces; floors are clean with minimal streaks; high-touch areas are mostly sanitised; rubbish bins are empty but may have minor residue. |
Pass | Noticeable dust on surfaces; floors have visible streaks or minor debris; high-touch areas are partially sanitised; rubbish bins are not overflowing but not fully sanitised. |
Fail | Excessive dust and debris on surfaces; floors are dirty or sticky; high-touch areas are not sanitised; rubbish bins are overflowing or unsanitised. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
- Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
- Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
