Objective
To ensure the weighbridge area is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring safety and operational efficiency.
Scope of Work
- Dusting of all surfaces including control panels and railings.
- Sanitising of high-touch areas such as buttons and handrails.
- Sweeping and mopping of the weighbridge platform and surrounding areas.
- Emptying and cleaning of rubbish bins.
- Cleaning of any visible spills or stains immediately.
- Inspection and cleaning of drainage systems to prevent blockages.
Method
- Use a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
- Begin by dusting all surfaces with a microfibre cloth.
- Sanitise high-touch areas using an approved disinfectant.
- Sweep the entire weighbridge platform and surrounding areas.
- Mop the platform using a neutral detergent and warm water.
- Empty rubbish bins and replace liners.
- Inspect drainage systems and clean as necessary.

Performance Level | Criteria |

Excellent | No visible dust or debris; all surfaces are sanitised and free of stains; rubbish bins are empty and clean; drainage systems are clear and functioning. |
Good | Minor dust or debris in non-critical areas; surfaces are mostly sanitised; rubbish bins are empty but may have minor residue; drainage systems are mostly clear. |
Pass | Visible dust or debris in some areas; surfaces are partially sanitised; rubbish bins are not overflowing but have visible residue; drainage systems have minor blockages. |
Fail | Significant dust or debris; surfaces are not sanitised; rubbish bins are overflowing; drainage systems are blocked. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
- Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
- Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
- Photos: Before and after photos as requested to document cleaning completion and quality
