Objective
To ensure the car wash facility is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, providing a safe and pleasant environment for customers and staff.
Scope of Work
- Cleaning and sanitising of all customer and staff areas, including waiting areas and toilets.
- Regular removal of rubbish and debris from all areas, including car wash bays.
- Wiping and sanitising of all high-touch surfaces, such as door handles, taps, and payment terminals.
- Mopping and vacuuming of floors to remove dirt, water, and other residues.
- Cleaning of windows and glass surfaces to ensure clarity and streak-free finish.
- Ensuring all cleaning supplies and equipment are stored safely and correctly.
Method
- Begin by removing all rubbish and debris from the area, placing it in the appropriate rubbish bins.
- Use a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination, starting with the least soiled areas.
- Sanitise all high-touch surfaces using an appropriate disinfectant, ensuring contact time as per manufacturer's instructions.
- Vacuum and mop floors, using a wet/dry vacuum for water and a mop for any remaining residues.
- Clean windows and glass surfaces using a glass cleaner and microfibre cloth for a streak-free finish.
- Inspect all areas to ensure compliance with quality criteria and rectify any deficiencies immediately.

Quality Criteria
Performance Level | Criteria |

Excellent | All surfaces are visibly clean and free from dirt, dust, and streaks. No odours present. Floors are dry and free from debris. High-touch surfaces are sanitised and free from smudges. |
Good | Most surfaces are clean with minor smudges or dust. No strong odours. Floors are mostly dry with minimal debris. High-touch surfaces are mostly sanitised. |
Pass | Surfaces are generally clean but may have visible dust or smudges. Mild odours may be present. Floors have some debris. High-touch surfaces have been sanitised but may have missed spots. |
Fail | Surfaces are visibly dirty or dusty. Strong odours present. Floors are wet or have significant debris. High-touch surfaces are not sanitised. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
- Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
- Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
- Photos: Before and after photos as requested to document cleaning completion and quality
