Objective

To ensure the escalator area in retail facilities is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, providing a safe and pleasant environment for customers and staff.

Scope of Work
  • Dusting and wiping of all escalator handrails and side panels.
  • Vacuuming of escalator steps and surrounding floor area.
  • Mopping of adjacent floor surfaces to remove any spills or stains.
  • Sanitising of handrails and touchpoints to minimise the spread of germs.
  • Removal of rubbish and debris from the escalator area.
  • Inspection and cleaning of escalator glass panels and metal surfaces.
Method
  1. Use a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
  2. Begin by dusting and wiping handrails and side panels with a microfibre cloth.
  3. Vacuum escalator steps using a specialised escalator vacuum attachment.
  4. Mop adjacent floor surfaces with a damp mop and appropriate cleaning solution.
  5. Sanitise handrails and touchpoints using a disinfectant spray and cloth.
  6. Collect and dispose of rubbish in designated rubbish bins.
  7. Clean glass panels with a glass cleaner and microfibre cloth.
