Objective
To ensure fitting rooms in retail spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, providing a pleasant and safe environment for customers.
Scope of Work
- Dusting all surfaces including shelves, hooks, and mirrors.
- Vacuuming and/or mopping floors to remove dirt and debris.
- Sanitising high-touch areas such as door handles, hooks, and benches.
- Emptying rubbish bins and replacing liners.
- Cleaning mirrors to remove smudges and fingerprints.
- Ensuring fitting room curtains or doors are clean and free from stains.
- Checking for and removing any unpleasant odours.
Method
- Begin by dusting all surfaces using a microfibre cloth to capture dust and prevent it from becoming airborne.
- Vacuum the floor using a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter to ensure all dust and debris are removed.
- Mop the floor with a neutral pH cleaner suitable for the flooring type.
- Sanitise high-touch areas with a disinfectant approved by Australian health standards.
- Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and ensure bins are clean and odour-free.
- Clean mirrors with a glass cleaner, ensuring no streaks are left.
- Inspect fitting room curtains or doors for stains and clean as necessary.
- Use an air freshener if required to maintain a pleasant scent.

Quality Criteria

| Excellent | All surfaces are dust-free, floors are spotless, mirrors are streak-free, high-touch areas are fully sanitised, no odours present, and fitting room curtains/doors are immaculate. |
| Good | Minor dust on surfaces, floors have minimal debris, mirrors have slight streaks, high-touch areas mostly sanitised, faint odours may be present, and fitting room curtains/doors have minor marks. |
| Pass | Noticeable dust on surfaces, floors have visible debris, mirrors have visible streaks, high-touch areas partially sanitised, noticeable odours present, and fitting room curtains/doors have visible stains. |
| Fail | Heavy dust accumulation, floors are dirty, mirrors are heavily streaked, high-touch areas not sanitised, strong unpleasant odours, and fitting room curtains/doors are heavily stained. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
- Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
- Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
- Photos: Before and after photos as requested to document cleaning completion and quality
