Objective
Ensure the Isolation Room in the Transportation Hub is cleaned and sanitised to the highest Australian standards, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for all users.
Scope of Work
- Dust all horizontal surfaces including ledges, windowsills, and furniture.
- Sanitise all high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and taps.
- Vacuum all carpeted areas and mop hard floors using a colour-coded system.
- Empty and sanitise rubbish bins, replacing liners as needed.
- Clean and sanitise any visible stains or spills immediately.
- Ensure all cleaning activities comply with Australian infection control guidelines.
Method
- Prepare the cleaning trolley with all necessary supplies, ensuring colour-coded cloths and mops are used.
- Dust all surfaces using a microfibre cloth, starting from the highest point and working downwards.
- Sanitise high-touch areas with an approved disinfectant, allowing appropriate contact time.
- Vacuum carpets using a HEPA-filtered vacuum cleaner to minimise airborne particles.
- Mop hard floors with a neutral detergent, ensuring no residue is left behind.
- Dispose of rubbish in accordance with local waste management regulations.

Quality Criteria

Fail | Visible dust, dirt, or stains on more than 10% of surfaces. Strong odours present. High-touch areas are not sanitised. Floors are dirty or sticky. Rubbish bins are overflowing. |
Documentation
