Objective
To maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic waste management area within the transportation hub, ensuring compliance with Australian cleaning standards and workplace health and safety requirements.
Scope of Work
- Regular removal of waste from rubbish bins and disposal in designated areas.
- Sanitising of rubbish bins and surrounding areas to prevent odours and contamination.
- Cleaning and sanitising of waste storage areas, including floors and walls.
- Inspection and cleaning of waste disposal equipment and trolleys.
- Monitoring and managing waste segregation according to recycling and hazardous waste guidelines.
- Immediate response to spills or leaks in waste management areas.
Method
- Collect all waste from bins using a colour-coded system to prevent cross-contamination.
- Transport waste to designated disposal areas using a trolley.
- Sanitise bins and surrounding areas with appropriate cleaning agents.
- Clean floors and walls in waste storage areas using mops and disinfectants.
- Inspect and clean waste disposal equipment and trolleys, ensuring they are free from debris and contamination.
- Ensure waste is segregated and disposed of according to local council and environmental regulations.
- Respond promptly to any spills or leaks, using absorbent materials and disinfectants to clean affected areas.

Fail | Bins are not emptied; significant waste or odours present; floors and walls are dirty; waste equipment is dirty or non-functional; waste is not segregated. |
Documentation
