Objective
Ensure the water treatment area within the transportation hub is maintained to the highest cleaning standards, ensuring safety, hygiene, and compliance with Australian regulations.
Scope of Work
- Sanitising all surfaces including benches, control panels, and handrails.
- Mopping floors with appropriate disinfectant solutions.
- Wiping down all high-touch areas such as door handles, switches, and taps.
- Emptying and sanitising rubbish bins.
- Dusting all surfaces including vents and ledges.
- Cleaning and sanitising sinks and any exposed plumbing fixtures.
- Ensuring all cleaning activities comply with relevant Australian health and safety standards.
Method
- Prepare the area by removing any visible debris and ensuring all cleaning equipment is ready and in good condition.
- Use a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
- Begin by dusting all high surfaces and working downwards to avoid re-contamination.
- Sanitise all surfaces using an approved disinfectant, paying special attention to high-touch areas.
- Mop the floors using a wet mop and appropriate cleaning solution, ensuring no pooling of water occurs.
- Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and sanitise the bin area.
- Conduct a final inspection to ensure all areas meet the quality criteria.

Quality Criteria
Performance Level | Criteria |

Excellent | All surfaces are visibly clean and sanitised, no dust or debris present, bins are empty and sanitised, floors are spotless with no streaks or water pooling. |
Good | Surfaces are clean with minimal dust, bins are emptied, floors are clean with minor streaks. |
Pass | Surfaces are mostly clean, some dust present, bins are emptied but not sanitised, floors have visible streaks. |
Fail | Surfaces are visibly dirty, dust and debris present, bins are full or not sanitised, floors are dirty or have water pooling. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
- Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
- Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
- Photos: Before and after photos as requested to document cleaning completion and quality
